Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin is set to inaugurate a total of 584 newly constructed apartment units in Chennai, marking a significant step in the state’s ongoing push to expand affordable and dignified housing infrastructure for urban residents. The housing units, built at a combined cost of ₹89.70 crore, are spread across two major scheme areas—Vembuli Amman Temple and Srinivasapuram Phase-1—within the broader Vembuli Amman Scheme Area located along Harrington Road near Pachaiyappa’s College.
Officials from the Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board (TNUHDB) said the project aims to offer improved living conditions to families residing in congested or vulnerable localities. The new apartment blocks feature upgraded structural quality, essential amenities, and better access to civic services.
