Pune: Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday raised questions over the direct cash transfers of Rs 10,000 to 75 lakh women in Bihar by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, ahead of the state’s assembly elections.
Speaking to the media, Thackeray asked whether Bihar’s women had suddenly become more “beloved” or whether the move was politically motivated due to the approaching elections. He contrasted the scheme with Maharashtra, questioning whether women in his state are no longer being recognized as “Ladli.”
