Mumbai, Aug 11 — Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) chief Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday expressed support for Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s concerns regarding the electoral rolls, questioning the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) stance on deleted voter names.

Addressing reporters, Thackeray said, “Election Commission told Rahul ji to give an affidavit. Yesterday or the day before yesterday, they said that they have no obligation to give all the deleted names. So, has the Election Commissioner gone above the President or the Supreme Court? Has he been given so much power?”

Thackeray stressed that the issues raised by Gandhi “need to be taken seriously” and called for greater transparency in the management of electoral rolls.
