Agartala, December 10, 2024: The 72nd North Eastern Council (NEC) Plenary Session is set to take place in Agartala, Tripura, later this month. Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha expressed pride and excitement about hosting this significant event, which is scheduled for December 20 and will witness the participation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Speaking to the media, CM Saha said, “It is a matter of great happiness for us that this time the NEC Plenary Session is happening in Tripura. Preparations are in full swing, and different departmental teams have been formed to ensure everything goes smoothly.”
The NEC Plenary is a crucial event for the northeastern region, where key developmental agendas and projects are discussed. This year’s session will address various topics, including infrastructure development, economic growth, and inter-state collaboration across the northeastern states.
Saha also highlighted that hosting the plenary in Agartala underscores the state’s growing prominence in the region and provides an opportunity to showcase its cultural and developmental strides.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s presence at the session is expected to add significant weight to the discussions, with key stakeholders from all northeastern states participating.
The Chief Minister assured that meticulous planning and execution would ensure a seamless event. “This is not just a meeting but a milestone for Tripura, and we are honored to host such an important occasion,” he added.
