Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Sunday said he will travel to Gujarat to participate in a Padyatra on November 26, an event that will see the presence of Chief Ministers from several states. Speaking to reporters, Saha said the initiative aims to strengthen awareness about national unity and reinforce patriotic values, particularly among the youth.

“The main objective is to spread awareness about the unity and integrity of the nation and instil the feeling of patriotism in them since youth is the biggest resource of the nation,” the Chief Minister stated. He added that the programme is also meant to stand firmly against elements “trying to break the nation from inside and outside.”

Dr. Saha emphasised that the walk is being organised in honour of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the country’s first Deputy Prime Minister and a central figure in India’s integration after Independence. “We are doing this in honour of Sardar Patel. I will be going to Gujarat tomorrow and participating in the Padyatra on 26th November,” he said.
