New Delhi, June 11 — In a swift response to a controversy involving Border Security Force (BSF) personnel refusing to board a train headed for the Amarnath Yatra, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw confirmed that corrective action was taken immediately, including the suspension of four officials.

The issue came to light when around 1,200 BSF jawans deployed for the annual Amarnath pilgrimage refused to travel on the designated train, citing its poor condition and lack of basic amenities. The jawans reportedly raised concerns over hygiene, safety, and comfort on board, prompting a review of arrangements.

Addressing the matter, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated, “Action was taken on this yesterday itself. The train's rake was changed. Four officers who were responsible for this have been suspended.”
