Hyderabad, Telangana: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) chief Bomma Mahesh Kumar Goud has taken a swipe at Union Minister G Kishan Reddy over his recent visit to Musi River. Describing the visit as a "12-hour drama," Goud accused the minister of staging a superficial inspection that failed to address the real issues faced by the locals.
“Chief Minister Revanth Reddy wanted him to go to Musi River and stay there for three months to understand the ground realities and the struggles of the poor people living in the area,” Goud said during a press interaction. He questioned the effectiveness of a one-day visit in resolving long-standing problems associated with the river and its surrounding communities.
The TPCC chief alleged that Reddy’s visit was more about creating a “photo finish” moment than bringing about meaningful change. He emphasized that addressing the challenges related to the Musi River requires sustained efforts, detailed planning, and a genuine understanding of the plight of the affected residents.
The Congress leader's remarks highlight the political tensions in Telangana, as parties gear up for the upcoming state elections. Musi River, which has been a focal point of development and environmental concerns, remains a politically charged issue in the state. As criticism mounts, all eyes are on how the government and opposition respond to the needs of the people living near the river.
