Jyoti Mayal, Chairperson of the Tourism and Hospitality Skill Council, addressed the ongoing calls to boycott Türkiye and Azerbaijan following their open support for Pakistan during India’s Operation Sindoor. She urged a broader perspective on geopolitical conflicts, emphasizing the impact on people’s sentiments and industries.

“I think any country that falls into a geopolitical war should consider all the sides because it really affects the sentiments of the people,” Mayal said. She acknowledged the strong public reaction in India against Türkiye and Azerbaijan, noting that their support for Pakistan during the recent military operation has triggered calls for a tourism boycott.

“Of course, it will affect the tourism in these countries because the tourism industry has stood up,” she added, highlighting how political developments can quickly translate into economic consequences for the hospitality sector.
