Raipur: Union Minister Tokhan Sahu on Thursday welcomed President Droupadi Murmu’s visit to Chhattisgarh, describing it as a significant moment for the state, especially as it coincides with the 150th birth anniversary of tribal icon Bhagwan Birsa Munda. Sahu said the President’s arrival holds “immense pride” for the people of Chhattisgarh and highlighted the nationwide celebrations being organised to mark the occasion.
“On the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, Droupadi Murmu is arriving here, and it is a matter of pride for us,” Sahu said. He noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has declared the anniversary as Janjatiya Gaurav Divas, a decision that has led to enthusiastic celebrations across the country to honour the legacy of the revered tribal freedom fighter.
Transitioning to political developments in Bihar, Sahu termed the NDA’s victory in the state as a “mega win,” saying the results reaffirm the public’s confidence in the alliance’s governance model. “People have trust in NDA; as a result, we are winning in all the states,” he said, adding that the outcome once again reflected Bihar’s rejection of “Jungle Raj” in favour of stability and development.
