CHENNAI — Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udayanidhi Stalin on Wednesday reviewed preparedness measures as the Northeast Monsoon continues to bring heavy rainfall to the state, particularly in Chennai, Kanchipuram, Thiruvallore, and Chengalpet districts.
Speaking after a field inspection, Stalin said- “Northeast Monsoon is in full swing now. It has been raining continuously in Chennai, Kanchipuram, Thiruvallore, and Chengalpet districts, and it is unlikely to stop today.”
He cited the latest forecasts from the MeT Department, which indicate that rains are expected to resume in two days and may intensify, potentially surpassing last year’s levels. “The prediction suggests that rain will be even more abundant compared to last year. Today’s meeting is about how to face such a situation if it comes,” Stalin said.
