By A Staff Reporter — Chennai: Tamil Nadu Congress President Selvaperunthagai K expressed strong confidence in Priyanka Gandhi’s chances in Wayanad, claiming she will secure a victory by over 5 lakh votes. Addressing the media before departing for Wayanad, Selvaperunthagai emphasized that the Tamil Nadu Congress team, including MPs, MLAs, and party cadres, would join in campaigning efforts, focusing on the Tamil-speaking areas within the constituency.

“We are committed to ensuring a landslide victory for Priyanka Gandhi in Wayanad,” he stated. "Our teams are reaching out to every corner of the constituency to bolster support, and we’re particularly targeting Tamil-speaking regions, which hold a significant portion of the electorate here."

Selvaperunthagai outlined additional plans beyond the election campaign, noting that on November 5, the Congress would concentrate on strengthening village committees, a grassroots strategy to connect more closely with the community. Following this, the Congress will launch the "Gram Darshan" initiative on December 1. This program is aimed at bridging the gap between Congress leaders and rural communities by directly addressing local grievances. The Gram Darshan program, he explained, will involve Congress leaders traveling across the villages, engaging in dialogue with residents, and listening to their needs and concerns.

This multifaceted approach signals Congress’s intent to revitalize its rural outreach and enhance its visibility within Wayanad. By building stronger connections at the village level, the Congress hopes to solidify support for Priyanka Gandhi and demonstrate a lasting commitment to addressing regional issues. The party believes this campaign structure will have a positive long-term impact, helping them connect on a personal level with the people of Wayanad.
