Kolkata: Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Kunal Ghosh on Monday criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his recent remarks against opposition parties, alleging that the Centre was shifting blame on issues of national security.

Addressing reporters, Ghosh said the Prime Minister was visiting states and targeting rivals with “baseless allegations.” Referring to concerns over infiltration, the TMC leader pointed out that border security is under the control of central agencies. “If foreigners are infiltrating the country, the border is in the hands of PM Modi’s government. It is in the hands of the BSF and the central agency,” he said.

Ghosh further questioned the accountability of the Union Home Ministry on this matter. “Whose responsibility is it if someone infiltrates the country from the border? HM Amit Shah and the central government’s,” he remarked.

He also referred to the situation in Tripura, where the BJP governs both at the state and central level, saying, “What will he say in Tripura? There is a double-engine government there.”
