Kolkata | Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Kunal Ghosh criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over border security concerns, particularly regarding infiltration issues in Tripura and Assam. Ghosh pointed out the apparent inconsistency in addressing border security, specifically questioning the role of the Border Security Force (BSF).

In a Twitter post, Ghosh asked, "What is going on at Tripura border, which is a BJP state? What is going on in Assam? If infiltration is an issue in Bengal, then it is also an issue in Tripura. Who is responsible (for security) at Bangladesh border, it is the BSF. So, BSF should cover the borderline."

His comments come amidst ongoing discussions about infiltration and security at India's eastern borders, particularly the Bangladesh border, which has been a point of political contention. Ghosh’s remarks suggest that the BSF, tasked with guarding India’s borders, should assume full responsibility for securing the borderlines in Tripura and Assam, just as it does in Bengal.
