Kolkata, Aug 11 — Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Kunal Ghosh on Sunday alleged that police used force to prevent Opposition MPs from marching to the Election Commission of India (ECI) office in New Delhi, where they had planned to submit a memorandum.
“The BJP is scared, so they used force to prevent opposition MPs from marching to the Election Commission office. What Amit Shah’s police did was undemocratic and reflects a fascist mindset, especially towards women MPs, one of whom is currently undergoing treatment,” Ghosh said.
The march was part of the INDIA bloc’s protest against the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Bihar and alleged voter fraud during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The Opposition claims the process is biased and undermines electoral fairness, while the ruling BJP has rejected the allegations.
