Handwara: In a coordinated operation, the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Indian Army, and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) apprehended three alleged terrorist associates in the Wajihama area of Qalamabad, Handwara. The arrests were made following actionable intelligence regarding the suspects’ activities in the region.
The accused have been identified as Mohd Iqbal Pandith, Sajad Ahmad Shah, and Ishfaq Ahmad Malik. Security forces recovered a cache of arms and ammunition from their possession, including one pistol, one pistol magazine, two pistol rounds, 20 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition, and 11 anti-national posters.
Officials said the operation is part of ongoing efforts to curb militant networks and their logistical support structures in north Kashmir. The recovered material has been seized for forensic examination, and investigations are underway to determine the suspects’ links to active militant groups.
