New Delhi: Telangana IT Minister Sridhar Babu Duddilla on Tuesday expressed concern over the impact of recent developments related to the H1-B visa program in the United States, urging the Indian government to take up the issue at the diplomatic level.
“Many people, including students from Telangana and Telugu-speaking individuals, are residing in the US. These people will be hit hard,” Duddilla said. He emphasized the need for immediate intervention by the Centre to safeguard the interests of Indian professionals and students who depend on the visa for employment and education opportunities abroad.
The minister added that the Telangana government aims to create conditions that could “reverse the brain drain” by establishing opportunities and companies within the state for returning professionals. “We would like to reverse the brain drain and establish companies here for them,” he said, noting that state officials have already raised their concerns with Union government ministers.
