Hyderabad: Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu has called the state’s recently completed caste survey a “historic exercise”, emphasizing its significance in shaping policies and addressing social inequalities.
Speaking on the occasion, he expressed gratitude to the people of Telangana for their active participation. “I am thankful to all the people who participated in this... This was a historic exercise... People throughout the country are waiting for this kind of exercise... We have completed it and shown it to the people,” he said.
The caste survey, conducted to assess the socio-economic status of various communities in Telangana, is expected to provide crucial data for policy-making, social justice initiatives, and resource allocation. The initiative aligns with growing calls for caste-based surveys across India, particularly after Bihar conducted a similar exercise in 2023.
