Telangana CM Orders High Alert as IMD Forecasts Heavy Rainfall Across State

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Thursday instructed the state administration to remain on high alert following the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) forecast of heavy to very heavy rainfall across the state over the next two days. Officials from all departments have been directed to closely monitor flood-prone areas and implement proactive measures to safeguard residents.

District Collectors have been asked to conduct regular reviews of areas likely to be affected by flooding and evacuate residents from low-lying regions to relief camps as a precaution. Authorities are also instructed to halt traffic on waterlogged roads and ensure the safety of causeways.

The Electricity Department has been tasked with maintaining uninterrupted power supply while addressing safety concerns, including the removal of hanging wires during intense rainfall. Educational institutions have been advised to remain vigilant during the Dussehra holidays, and citizens have been urged to avoid venturing outdoors during the downpour.
