New Delhi: BJP leader and Member of Parliament Tejasvi Surya on Thursday emphasised the importance of national unity and social harmony, saying India has always prospered when its people stood together and faltered whenever divisions deepened.

After attending the Young Leaders Forum to Empower Youth for National Security in New Delhi, Surya said that the country’s greatest strength lies in its diversity and the spirit of togetherness that binds it.

“The biggest strength of Bharat has been its diversity and its underlying unity. Our country has always flourished when we stood united as steel and faltered whenever divisions arose,” Surya said.

Marking the occasion of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s Jayanti, observed as National Unity Day, the BJP leader said the day serves as a reminder of the values of unity, integrity, and collective strength that Patel embodied.

“On Sardar Patel ji’s Jayanti — National Unity Day — we are reminded that celebrating unity in diversity strengthens the nation. The Young Leaders Forum is a moment to recall that India must remain strong and united,” he added.

Surya also urged India’s youth to play an active role in safeguarding the nation’s unity, integrity, and security, calling them the “torchbearers of a confident and cohesive Bharat.”
