Darbhanga, Bihar: RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav made a major announcement in Darbhanga, promising to launch the ‘Maai Behan Maan Yojana’ if his party forms the next government in Bihar. The scheme, aimed at supporting economically vulnerable women, will provide Rs 2500 directly into the bank accounts of eligible mothers and sisters across the state.
Speaking to supporters, Yadav emphasized the importance of empowering women and addressing the financial struggles faced by economically disadvantaged families. “If our government is formed in Bihar, we will start the 'Maai Behan Maan Yojana.' Under this scheme, Rs 2500 will be directly transferred to the accounts of our economically weak mothers and sisters. As soon as our government is in power, we will implement this scheme within a month,” Yadav said.
The announcement is seen as part of the RJD’s ongoing efforts to build strong support among women voters in Bihar. Yadav's statement also highlights his party’s commitment to social welfare, promising direct financial assistance to those in need.
The scheme is expected to provide much-needed relief to women, particularly those in rural and marginalized communities, by offering a direct income supplement. If implemented, the ‘Maai Behan Maan Yojana’ would become one of the flagship initiatives of the RJD-led government in Bihar.
