Patna: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Legislative Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav, has levelled serious allegations against the Election Commission of India (ECI), claiming it has been involved in vote manipulation at the behest of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Speaking at a press conference in Patna, Yadav alleged that the BJP’s consistent electoral victories, irrespective of the state, were not due to public mandate but the result of what he described as “vote theft.” He claimed that the ECI had failed to maintain transparency, noting that it had not addressed concerns publicly through press briefings or other means.

The remarks come amid ongoing political debates over electoral integrity, voter list management, and the role of independent institutions in safeguarding democratic processes. While no concrete evidence was presented during the briefing, Yadav’s statements are likely to intensify political tensions in Bihar and beyond, especially with upcoming polls in several states.
