Patna: In a scathing critique of the BJP government's stance on caste census and reservation, former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav highlighted what he perceives as a disconnect between the party's public statements and its underlying intentions. Speaking at a recent event, Yadav emphasized the enduring influence of his father, Lalu Prasad Yadav, in advocating for these critical social issues.
"This is the strength of Lalu Yadav that today, whether it is caste census or reservation, no one can openly say that this should not happen," Tejashwi Yadav stated, pointing out that the widespread support for these initiatives stems from his father's longstanding efforts. He went on to accuse the BJP of harboring concealed motives against these measures, despite their public silence on the matter. "There is a hidden motive in their mind that they do not want this to happen," Yadav asserted.
Yadav further criticized the BJP for its previous statements against the caste census, suggesting a contradiction between the party's words and actions. "The BJP government has already said that caste census should not happen... There is a difference between their words and actions," he remarked, underscoring a perceived inconsistency in the BJP's approach to social justice issues.
Tejashwi Yadav also accused the BJP of seeking to undermine the principles enshrined in the Indian Constitution. "They have nothing to do with reservation; their real agenda is that they want to change the Constitution," he alleged, warning of potential attempts to alter the foundational framework of Indian democracy.
