Patna: Jan Shakti Janata Dal chief Tej Pratap Yadav on Monday reacted to the Election Commission’s announcement of the Bihar Assembly election schedule, confirming that his party would contest the polls independently. “We will contest the elections as Jan Shakti Janata Dal. The day after tomorrow, we will announce our candidates in a press conference,” he told reporters in Patna.

Yadav, who earlier served as a minister in Bihar, also commented on the inauguration of the Patna Metro. He raised concerns over its safety, alleging that a section of land linked to the project had “sunk,” which he said could create fear among potential passengers. “It was inaugurated today, but a portion of the land has sunk. People will be scared to ride the metro; I think no one will go,” Yadav remarked.
