Delhi | BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh on Saturday launched a blistering attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of sympathising with Maoists and Naxals and of pandering to forces hostile to India’s security. Chugh said Gandhi “is the leader of the ideology which sheds tears for Maoists and Naxals and those who hold courts at night for perpetrators of 26/11 attacks,” and accused him of performing a “nagin dance” to the tune of the Pakistan army through what he called a foreign toolkit.
In remarks that echoed the ruling party’s hardline stance on internal security, Chugh criticised parties he said had “laid a red carpet for those who tried to break our country,” and accused the opposition of rewarding those who once spoke of dividing India. He pointed to individuals who had allegedly said “Bharat Tere Tukde Honge” and said such figures were still being given prominence by some parties.
Chugh also endorsed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s target to make India “Maoist and Naxal-free by 2026,” saying the government was pursuing a twin-track approach of development and security to dismantle the ideology and network of Naxalism. “People who lay down their weapons will be given a democratic path; if they choose terrorism, they will be given a way to their graves,” he said, underscoring the administration’s pledge of rehabilitation for surrendering cadres alongside tough action against those who continue violence
