Tamil Nadu Govt Allocates ₹4.35 Crore for Sportspersons, Udhayanidhi Stalin Vows Continued Support

Chennai: In a significant move to support athletes, Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin announced ₹4.35 crore in financial assistance for 157 sportspersons. Speaking at an event, he emphasized the state government’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of athletes, including job reservations and enhanced training facilities.

 

"The state government is providing 3% of government jobs for sportspersons. So far, 84 athletes have already secured government jobs under the leadership of our Chief Minister," he said.

 

Highlighting Tamil Nadu’s progress in national sporting events, Udhayanidhi celebrated the state's rise from 10th place in the previous National Games to 6th place in the recently concluded 38th National Games. Encouraging athletes to aim higher, he expressed confidence that Tamil Nadu would secure the top spot in the upcoming edition.

 

"I believe that in the next National Games, we will score 1st place, and I have no doubt that you all will achieve it. Whatever help or support is needed, the government is ready to provide," he assured.
