Chennai – Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin participated in an event at Marina Beach in Chennai to honor women who prepared nutritious and traditional foods as part of a food festival ahead of the Pongal festival. The event, which celebrated the state's rich culinary heritage, was attended by various dignitaries and community leaders.

When asked about the growing public demand for the state government to offer Rs 1,000 in cash alongside gift hampers for Pongal, Stalin responded that the decision lies with Chief Minister MK Stalin. “The Chief Minister will take that call,” he said, clarifying that it would be up to the government to assess and decide on any financial assistance for the festival.
