Chennai: Chief Minister M.K. Stalin announced that Tamil Nadu has achieved an economic growth rate of 11.19%, according to recent data from the Union Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation. He stated that this marks the first time in 14 years that the state has recorded double-digit growth, describing it as a significant milestone under the Dravidian Model of governance.

Speaking to the media, the Chief Minister said, “In our Dravidian Model government, the growth of our Tamil Nadu state has increased to 11.19 per cent, which is good news. Tamil Nadu’s economic growth has touched a new high.” He emphasized that this achievement was not based on internal government claims but was confirmed by central government data.

Stalin also noted that the last time Tamil Nadu recorded double-digit growth was in the financial year 2010–11, when the state saw a 13.12% growth rate under the leadership of then Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, also from the DMK.

Highlighting the collaborative nature of the achievement, the Chief Minister remarked, “This is not a personal victory for Stalin alone but a combined victory of ministers, government officials and people.”
