Hyderabad: Telangana BJP President N Ramchander Rao paid tribute to Bharatiya Jana Sangh founder Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee, highlighting his ideological contributions to India’s political fabric. Speaking at an event held in Hyderabad, Rao underscored Mookerjee’s enduring relevance in contemporary governance and national policy.

“Syama Prasad Mookerjee is the founder of the Jan Sangh and laid the roadmap for 'one nation, one law.' Today, the entire country appreciates his thoughts and ideas,” said Rao. He stated that the abrogation of Article 370, which granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir, was in line with Mookerjee’s long-held vision for national integration and equality under the Constitution.

Rao noted that BJP workers and citizens across India continue to remember Mookerjee for his firm nationalist views and his advocacy for a unified legal framework across all states. “Today, the workers of the BJP and the people of this country remember Syama Prasad Mookerjee for his nationalist views and ideas,” he added.

Dr. Mookerjee, who passed away in 1953, has remained a key figure in the ideological foundation of the Bharatiya Janata Party. His legacy is often invoked in discussions on national unity and constitutional uniformity.
