Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh: Rashtriya Shoshit Samaj Party (RSSP) chief Swami Prasad Maurya has sharply criticized Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat's recent suggestion promoting a "3-children" norm. Maurya described the statement as contradictory to India's established family planning policies and questioned its alignment with government initiatives.

“The statement of RSS Chief puts a stamp of approval on the discussion which was done on Muslims having more children and is urging the people from other sections of society also to have more children,” Maurya said.

He emphasized that the Family Planning Welfare Department has long advocated the slogan "Hum Do, Hamare Do" to promote sustainable population growth. “The statement of the RSS chief is contradictory to the policy of the Family Planning Welfare Department,” he added.

Maurya also urged Bhagwat to consult with key leaders of the ruling party before making such remarks. “RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat should have first asked PM Modi and UP CM Yogi Adityanath whether they agree with his statement or not,” he stated.

In a surprising turn, Maurya also said he was “happy” that Bhagwat’s remark indirectly acknowledged the rise in the Muslim population. “There should be no discussion over it (rise in the population of Muslims),” he remarked, signaling that such conversations only perpetuate divisiveness.

The remarks have stirred political debate, with critics questioning the impact of Bhagwat’s statement on India’s population policies and commu

nal harmony.
