Kolkata: West Bengal Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari took part in a massive protest march organized by the BJP, demanding swift action in the saline contamination case. The BJP has called for the arrest of the state’s Health Minister, Health Secretary Narayan Swarup Nigam, and the suspension of the doctors involved in the case.
The protest has put Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee under scrutiny, as she holds the health portfolio in the state government. Adhikari alleged negligence and mismanagement within the health department, holding the ruling Trinamool Congress responsible for the incident.
“This is not just a failure of the health department but a blatant disregard for human lives. The Chief Minister, who also handles the health portfolio, cannot escape accountability,” Adhikari said during the march.
