NEW DELHI — Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar launched a sharp attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab, raising alarm over the state's worsening law and order situation, fragile finances, and increasing susceptibility to external propaganda, particularly from Pakistan.

Addressing the media in Delhi, Jakhar said, “Punjab needs strong leadership. The state today stands at the edge — financially and socially. If we do not act now, it may fall prey to Pakistani propaganda and destabilizing forces.”

He went on to highlight Punjab’s long history of suffering — from the era of the Mughals and British colonialism to modern-day threats posed by cross-border influence. “Punjab has suffered the most through history, and it continues today — now at the hands of Pakistan and political misgovernance.”

Jakhar strongly criticized the current leadership structure, stating, “Punjab is at the mercy of AAP, which has already been rejected by the people of Delhi. Arvind Kejriwal is the de facto Chief Minister, while Bhagwant Mann doesn’t even hold the powers of a clerk.”

Raising serious concerns about internal security, he added, “The biggest threats facing Punjab are that police stations are being captured, extortions are happening in broad daylight, and people are being murdered on roads. The rule of law is disintegrating.”
