BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi made a scathing remark in response to recent statements by Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge. Speaking in Delhi, Trivedi accused Kharge and the Congress party of having a "maligned mindset." He challenged Kharge's claim of being progressive, asking, "If he says he is progressive and PM Modi calls him an urban Naxal, then I want to ask him—are four wives, Triple Talaq, Mehram, Halala, and Hijab progressive?"

Trivedi went on to criticize the Congress party's alleged support for practices he deemed regressive and accused the party of making inappropriate comments about Hinduism. According to Trivedi, this reflects an "urban Naxal mentality" within the Congress, with the party consistently misrepresenting itself under the guise of progressivism.
He also highlighted the SC/ST community, stating that Kharge’s actions in Haryana had contributed to the current state of affairs for the community. Trivedi suggested that Congress had lost credibility on the national stage. "No matter how much Congress tries to defend itself, they are completely exposed in front of the people," he added.
Trivedi’s comments reflect the ongoing war of words between the BJP and Congress, particularly as both parties jostle for influence on key social, cultural, and political issues leading up to the elections.
