Bengaluru: Political speculation in Karnataka intensified on Friday as Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar remained at his residence in Bengaluru amid renewed chatter over the state’s chief ministerial post. The fresh round of rumours gained momentum after a group of Congress MLAs from Karnataka reportedly met the party’s national president, Mallikarjun Kharge, in Delhi on Thursday night.
The unscheduled meeting in the capital has triggered discussions within political circles about possible internal deliberations on leadership issues in Karnataka, even as the party has publicly maintained that there is no dispute between Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his deputy, DK Shivakumar.
