Bengaluru – In a significant development, six Naxalites surrendered to the Karnataka government in the presence of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, Home Minister G Parameshwara, and several other ministers and senior police officers.
The individuals, who had been associated with the Naxalite movement, handed over their uniforms and submitted their surrender letters to CM Siddaramaiah. This marks a major step in the state's efforts to address the Naxal issue and reintegrate former militants into mainstream society.
The surrender ceremony is seen as a positive move towards peace and reconciliation in the state, with authorities emphasizing their commitment to creating opportunities for the rehabilitation of former insurgents.
