New Delhi: Sikkim Minister Puran Kumar Gurung expressed optimism after meeting a Union Minister to discuss the state’s requirements, particularly budgetary support for organic farming.
“I came for the first time to meet him. The CM of Sikkim has sent a letter through me that I handed over. He accepted it himself, and I feel very happy,” Gurung shared, emphasizing the importance of the meeting.
A follower of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Gurung praised his leadership and revealed a pivotal outcome of their discussions. “He has assured me that the central government will help in whatever way possible,” Gurung stated.
Highlighting Sikkim’s unique position as a pioneer in organic farming, the minister underscored the need for financial backing to sustain and expand these initiatives. “We want budgetary support for organic farming,” he said, adding, “Shivraj ji has assured us of the financial support.”
This meeting reflects Sikkim’s commitment to strengthening its organic farming infrastructure while seeking enhanced cooperation from the central government to ensure sustainable agricultural growth.
