Bengaluru: In a significant development, the Karnataka High Court has dismissed a petition filed by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, challenging the Governor's sanction for his prosecution in the alleged Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scam. The petition sought to contest the Governor’s approval for proceeding with the case, but the court's ruling has now opened the door for further legal action.
Reacting to the court's decision, BJP leader CT Ravi strongly criticized Siddaramaiah, stating that the Congress party should clarify its stance on corruption. "Is Congress against corrupt people or are they supporters of them?" Ravi questioned. He went on to say that the Chief Minister now faces a serious dilemma. "He (Siddaramaiah) doesn't have any other option; he will have to resign. He can't escape for so long," Ravi added.
The MUDA scam has been a point of contention, with accusations of irregularities in land allotment during Siddaramaiah's tenure as Chief Minister. The BJP has been vocal in its demand for accountability, pushing for the prosecution to proceed without hindrance.
With the dismissal of the petition, pressure on Siddaramaiah and the Congress government in Karnataka is expected to increase as opposition leaders call for immediate action and further inquiries into the matter.
