Bengaluru, Karnataka: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expressed confidence and satisfaction after Congress swept all three assembly constituencies in the recently held by-elections. Speaking at a press conference, Siddaramaiah criticized the BJP and JD(S) for their alliance and misinformation campaign but maintained that the public's trust in Congress guarantees secured their victory.
"By-elections for three assembly constituencies have been held. I knew that we would win all three seats, and we did. The BJP claimed they would win all three seats and alleged many lies against our government and guarantees," said Siddaramaiah.
He also addressed issues raised by the opposition, including the MUDA and Waqf controversies, accusing the BJP and JD(S) of resorting to "fake allegations and a misinformation campaign." He added, "The Prime Minister claimed this is a wrong financial program, yet they implemented a similar one in Jharkhand. Even the Maharashtra government advertised, alleging we hadn’t implemented our five guarantees. I said I would retire and leave politics if those guarantees weren’t fulfilled."
On the Wayanad bypoll victory, Siddaramaiah congratulated Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra for her decisive win. "Priyanka Gandhi Vadra won with a margin of four lakhs. I congratulate her on this victory," he said.
Siddaramaiah’s remarks underscore Congress's determination to counter opposition narratives and build momentum ahead of future electoral battles.
