Bengaluru: Union Minister of State for Agriculture, Shobha Karandlaje, has accused the Siddaramaiah-led Karnataka government of neglecting the state’s health sector, pointing to a rising number of deaths among children and women. Speaking to the media, Karandlaje revealed alarming statistics, claiming that 111 children and around 30 women have lost their lives in the past 6-7 months due to health-related issues.
"Around 111 children and around 30 women have lost their lives in the last 6-7 months. Four women died in Bellary district hospital in just a week. In Bellary Medical College, one woman lost her life. The glucose was fake... The Siddaramaiah government is hiding everything. This government isn’t doing anything for the health department," Karandlaje stated.
The Minister highlighted the case of four women who died in a single week at Bellary district hospital, as well as the tragic incident at Bellary Medical College, where a woman died allegedly due to fake glucose being administered. Karandlaje accused the state government of covering up these deaths and failing to take necessary actions to improve healthcare in the region.
Karandlaje's remarks have sparked a political debate, with opposition parties demanding accountability and better healthcare management. The Siddaramaiah government has yet to issue an official response to these allegations, but the issue is likely to dominate public discourse in the coming days.
