Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh: Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has sharply criticized Congress MP Rahul Gandhi over his recent statements made in Washington, D.C. Chouhan, speaking in Bhopal, expressed his disapproval of Gandhi's remarks and emphasized the responsibility that comes with the position of Leader of the Opposition (LoP).

Chouhan reminded Gandhi that Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who held the LoP position before becoming Prime Minister, never sought to tarnish the country's reputation while abroad. "Rahul Gandhi is the LoP, a position of significant responsibility. I want to remind him that when Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the LoP, he never tried to malign the image of the country on foreign soil," Chouhan stated.

The Union Minister suggested that Gandhi's repeated defeats in elections have fostered anti-BJP, anti-RSS, and anti-Modi sentiments within him, leading to his actions against the country's image. Chouhan further labeled Gandhi's efforts to criticize the country as equivalent to treason, questioning the Congress leader's commitment to national unity.

He also criticized Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra, questioning its effectiveness in uniting the country and its people. Chouhan’s remarks reflect ongoing tensions between the ruling BJP and the Congress party, highlighting the contentious political landscape in India.
