New Delhi: Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has criticized Air India after being allotted a “broken and sunk” seat on a Delhi-bound flight from Bhopal. He called for improved passenger service, questioning why faulty seats were being assigned despite full fare being charged.
“If there is something... I felt that this is not about me. If other passengers are also facing this issue, then the management should be made aware of it so that such a situation can be avoided in the future. If they are charging full fare, then they should provide all the facilities,” Chouhan stated.
The incident occurred on Air India flight AI436, which Chouhan boarded to travel from Bhopal to Delhi for the inauguration of a farmers' fair in Pusa. When he confronted the crew about the defective seat, he was informed that the management was already aware of the issue and that the seat should not have been assigned to passengers.
