Chandigarh: Union Minister of Agriculture, Farmers Welfare, and Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan arrived at Rajendra Park Helipad in Chandigarh ahead of a crucial meeting with protesting farmers. The discussions, set to take place at 6 PM at the Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Public Administration, will focus on farmers' demands, particularly the legal guarantee of Minimum Support Price (MSP) on crops.

The meeting marks another attempt to resolve the ongoing deadlock between the Centre and farmer unions. In addition to MSP, farmers are demanding debt relief, fair crop pricing, and policy support to ease agricultural distress. The Punjab government, represented by Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, Agriculture Minister Gurmeet Singh Khuddian, and Food and Civil Supplies Minister Lal Chand Kataruchakk, is also participating in the talks.
