Pune, Maharashtra | Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan commemorated Kisan Diwas on the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh, lauding his lifelong dedication to farmers and agriculture.

"Today is Kisan Diwas, celebrated on the birth anniversary of Chaudhary Charan Singh. He devoted his entire life to the service of farmers and agriculture. While in Congress, he opposed Nehru ji's policies. His contributions continue to inspire us," Chauhan said.

Reflecting on the government’s efforts for farmers under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, Chauhan emphasized significant achievements. "We have doubled the Minimum Support Price (MSP) in the last 10 years, ensuring fair prices for farmers. The procurement of crops has increased multiple times compared to the Congress or UPA government," he stated.

He also reiterated the government’s commitment to standing by farmers during crises, adding, "PM Modi has always taken decisions in the best interest of farmers, ensuring their welfare and prosperity."
