Kanpur: Ahead of the Assembly by-elections in Uttar Pradesh, Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Shivpal Yadav launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing it of misusing administrative machinery to influence the polls. Speaking to reporters, Yadav remarked, "BJP is badly losing all 9 seats in Uttar Pradesh. You must have seen how many times the CM had to come here."
He alleged that the frequent visits by the Chief Minister and BJP leaders were a sign of desperation. "They are rushing here because they are not winning. They come here to pressure the administration," Yadav stated.
The SP leader criticized the ruling government for failing to provide basic services, particularly in the healthcare sector. "Health services are affected across the state. Their health services are on ventilators. Their government has completely failed in Uttar Pradesh," he added, holding the BJP accountable for poor governance.
Yadav also accused the BJP of relying on administrative influence rather than democratic practices to win elections. "In democracy, they should have ordered a fair election so that they would have understood where they stand. But the people of BJP lie from dawn to dusk. They don't work," he said.
He assured that the SP and the public would resist any alleged malpractices by the BJP. "The public and the people of Samajwadi Party will tackle this dishonesty. They won't get scared or cower down," Yadav emphasized, exuding confidence in his party's prospects in the upcoming by-polls.
The by-elections are being closely watched as a test of political strength in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
