Mumbai, Maharashtra: Shiv Sena leader Uday Samant emphasized the immediate focus on the oath-taking ceremony for 288 newly elected MLAs and the election of the Maharashtra Assembly speaker, ahead of discussions on cabinet expansion.

“Today’s priority is the oath-taking ceremony of MLAs and the election of the speaker. Only after these tasks are completed will discussions on cabinet expansion and department allocations take place,” Samant stated. He clarified that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, along with Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, will collectively decide the timeline and specifics of the cabinet reshuffle.

Reiterating his party’s faith in Eknath Shinde’s leadership, Samant affirmed that Shinde has full authority to make political decisions on behalf of the Shiv Sena faction. “Our leader is Eknath Shinde. We have given him the authority to take all political decisions. All our MLAs will stand by whatever decision he takes,” he added.

The statements reflect the unity within the Mahayuti alliance and the Shiv Sena faction’s trust in Shinde’s judgment. As the alliance navigates its governance agenda, the cabinet expansion remains a critical step in defining roles and responsibilities across departments to ensure smooth functioning.

The emphasis on cooperation between CM Fadnavis, Shinde, and Ajit Pawar underlines the coalition’s commitment to collective decision-making while maintaining clarity on leadership roles within the Shiv Sena. The upcoming discussions on cabinet roles are expected to shape the next phase of governance in Maharashtra.
