Mumbai: Shiv Sena leader Shaina NC on Tuesday described the recent stampede in Tamil Nadu’s Karur district, which claimed 41 lives, as one of the deadliest such incidents witnessed in the country.
“What happened in Tamil Nadu is a deadly stampede in Karur district, taking the lives of 41 people, which is probably the worst crushing that one has ever seen in India,” Shaina NC said while expressing grief over the tragedy.
She welcomed the formation of an eight-member fact-finding team by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The panel includes Dr. Shrikant Shinde, Hema Malini, Anurag Thakur, Tejasvi Surya, Brij Lal, Aparajita Sarangi, Rekha Sharma, and Puttu Mahesh Kumar.
“The team will get the facts of what actually happened. I think this will work in future for us to ensure that we never ever have a deadly stampede where people lose their lives. That should be the only agenda, and no politics,” she added.
