New Delhi: Amid rising political heat over national security and cross-border tensions, BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla launched a scathing attack on Congress MP and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, accusing him and the Congress party of echoing the narrative of Pakistan’s military establishment.
Referring to Gandhi’s remarks on the India-Pakistan dynamic, Poonawalla said, “Rahul Gandhi says that India and Pakistan have been hyphenated. But the fact is that Congress and Pakistan have been hyphenated. Congress has been constantly speaking the language of Pakistan DG ISPR.”
The BJP leader was particularly critical of the Congress party’s response to the success of Operation Sindoor—India’s recent military action aimed at neutralizing threats from across the border. “Today, when the entire world, including Pakistan Parliamentarians, agrees on how successful Operation Sindoor was, even after that, Congress speaks Pakistan's tongue,” he said.
Taking a sharp jibe at Gandhi’s political positioning, Poonawalla added, “Rahul Gandhi thinks that 'LoP' stands for 'Leader of Pakistan'.”
