Delhi: BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla launched a scathing attack on Arvind Kejriwal, accusing him of breaking promises and engaging in corruption. Speaking at a press event, Poonawalla highlighted contradictions in Kejriwal's political stances and actions.

"Arvind Kejriwal had said that he would never join hands with Congress, but later he formed an alliance with Congress and lost all seven Lok Sabha seats," Poonawalla remarked. He emphasized the fallout of Kejriwal's alliance with the Congress Party, describing it as a betrayal of his earlier commitments to Delhi voters.

Poonawalla also criticized Kejriwal’s governance, alleging that the Delhi Chief Minister stood with corrupt leaders and failed to uphold his promise of clean politics. "He also said that he would never do corruption, but he stood with corrupt leaders and did a lot of corruption," Poonawalla said, pointing to controversies surrounding Kejriwal’s tenure.

Further, the BJP leader accused Kejriwal of failing to deliver on his promises to the people of Delhi. "Arvind Kejriwal did not fulfil the promises he made to the people," he asserted, without elaborating on specific promises.

The remarks come amid rising tensions between the BJP and AAP as political narratives heat up ahead of upcoming elections. Poonawalla’s allegations are part of the BJP’s broader strategy to highlight alleged discrepancies in the governance of opposition parties, particularly in key states and union territories.

AAP has yet to respond to Poonawalla’s remarks. However, the exchange underscores the ongoing political battle between the two parties over governance and accountability in Delhi.
