Mumbai: Congress MP and noted author Shashi Tharoor has been awarded a Gold Medal and conferred the title of Honorary Fellow by the Asiatic Society of Mumbai, one of India’s oldest and most prestigious cultural and academic institutions. Tharoor announced the recognition through a social media post, expressing his gratitude for the honor.
“Grateful & humbled to be awarded a Gold Medal and declared an Honorary Fellow by the venerable Asiatic Society of Mumbai. This 221-year-old institution has been a custodian of knowledge & culture, heritage & history, for over two centuries. A true honour to be recognized by them,” Tharoor posted on X (formerly Twitter).

Tharoor, known for his contributions to literature, public discourse, and diplomacy, has authored several acclaimed books spanning history, politics, and culture.
