Pune: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Secular Congress Party (SCP) leader Sharad Pawar addressed concerns about Maharashtra’s current political situation, asserting that the alliance between NCP-SCP, Congress, and Shiv Sena (UBT) has strengthened significantly. Speaking about the past elections, Pawar pointed out the success of the coalition, highlighting how in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Congress won only one seat, while NCP secured three. However, this time, the alliance secured a total of 30 seats, showcasing the growing unity and strength within the coalition.

Pawar did not shy away from criticizing the state government, accusing it of failing to address critical issues, particularly the struggles faced by farmers. He expressed deep concern over the worsening situation for Maharashtra's agricultural community, revealing that in the past six months alone, several farmers in the state had taken their own lives due to increasing distress.

The NCP-SCP leader emphasized the urgent need for a change in governance to address the challenges facing farmers and ensure that the state's political focus returns to the welfare of its rural population. Pawar’s remarks underline the rising tensions between the opposition alliance and the current government, with the future of Maharashtra’s farming community at the heart of the ongoing political discourse.
