Seelampur Building Collapse
By A Staff Reporter
New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday expressed deep sorrow over the tragic building collapse in Seelampur, which has resulted in the loss of two lives and injuries to at least four others. The incident occurred in a congested area, making rescue operations particularly challenging.
In a public statement, Gupta said, “An unfortunate building collapse was reported at Seelampur. As informed, four persons have been rescued and rushed to the nearest hospital for medical assistance. It is extremely sad to note that the incident has claimed two precious lives.”
She added that Cabinet Minister Shri Kapil Mishra, along with senior officials, is present at the site and closely monitoring the situation. The Chief Minister also directed the District Magistrate to submit a detailed report on the circumstances leading to the collapse.
Rescue efforts are being jointly conducted by the Delhi Police, Delhi Fire Service, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA). The area’s narrow lanes have complicated the movement of heavy machinery, prompting much of the debris removal to be done manually.
“Heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased,” Gupta stated, assuring the public that every effort is being made to complete the rescue operation safely and swiftly.
